Nurse Manager – Emergency Department (ED)

Full-Time | Days or Evenings (Shift start 2pm) available | No Weekends

What You'll Do

As the Emergency Department Nurse Manager, you'll provide leadership for a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional emergency care every day. You'll create an environment where nurses feel supported, patients receive outstanding care, and collaboration drives positive outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a highly engaged Emergency Department nursing team.
  • Oversee daily department operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
  • Foster strong partnerships with physicians, hospital leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and department performance.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and operational planning while supporting organizational goals.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coach and support leaders and staff through professional development, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Build a positive, collaborative culture where teamwork, accountability, and excellence are celebrated.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a confident, collaborative leader who is passionate about emergency nursing and enjoys mentoring others while navigating the unique challenges of a busy Emergency Department.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Texas RN license or Compact RN License.
  • Current AHA or ARC BLS certification.
  • ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
  • TNCC within 18 months of hire.
  • ENPC or CEN within 18 months of hire.

Experience

  • Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in an acute care setting.
  • Recent Emergency Department experience is required.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing nursing teams.
  • Experience with budgeting, physician relationship management, quality improvement initiatives, and operational leadership.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting Salary: $51.17/hour and up, based on experience
  • Sign-On Bonus: Up to $20,000
  • Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis
  • Schedule: Full-Time Days with No Weekends
